How long have you been an artist? |
I don't know when I became an artist. In my country, “artist“ is a very frail word. As I was progressing year after year in college, I learned that artists are only those who make abstract art, so I found little understanding for the illustrative pictures I made. Comics and illustration were considered a lower class of art. But still, that didn\'t stop me from moving toward my goal of becoming an illustrator. |

What are some of your major art influences? |
I found motivation and inspiration from my boyfriend, who has had the same problems as I have had making comics and illustrations. That encouraged me to try and make my own comic. And so it started. Comics were more difficilt than I had imagined! There were many obstacles: the composition, the contrast, drama, harmony, clarity of the page, good knowledge of human anatomy, and last but not the least: colours. This last part was the only thing that forever occupied my mind. |

What are some of your major genre influences? |
In the American comic industry I admire artists such as Alex Ross, Esad Ribiæ, and Stjepan Šejiæ, and I love the drawing style of Michael Turner. But the true pleasure for me is to read a good manga. I am also inspired by Japanese RPG games, such as Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts, etc. I just love how they make all the villains neither black or white, with problems on their shoulders that brought them to the evil side. |

What sort of training/schooling/experience do you have with art? |
I spent four years attending the high school of Practical Arts and Design. After graduation I was accepted into the Academy of Fine Arts, where I\'m curently working on my final exams. Two years ago my boyfriend bought me a small Genius Wizard pen tablet, and so I started working in Adobe Photoshop. All my free time I use for drawing and colouring. I think a person can never get enough training… |
